Contact & FAQ
You can email us at wassup@vicerecords.com
But before you do please read through this FAQ and make sure your question hasn't already been answered.
Q: Where do I send in my demo? And will you actually listen to it?
A: VICE Records 97 N. 10th Street Suite 202 Brooklyn NY 11211 USA
You can send us your music. And we will listen to it and we will get in touch if we like it. Promise. Please don't send us: really bad music, "positive" hip-hop, music with poopy-caca lyrics, bands that sound exactly like the bands on our label, and anything you think is "so VICE" because it's probably not.
Q: I want to intern at VICE Records, where do I start?
A: Send a resume along with a cover letter to wassup@vicerecords.com. You must live in the New York area (or be willing to move here) and you must be able to work at least 20 hours a week.
Q: What the hell is Wolfgang Morden?
A: Wolfgang Morden is a gang that the VICE co-founders tried to start up in junior high school. The gang never really materialized but the name lives on. If only on the Yes New York cover art.
Q: How are you guys connected to VICE Magazine?
A: They sit across the room from us. Our side doesn't like their side. Or they don't like us. Or so were told. But sometimes, when the moon and stars align and someone's playing the Danzig, we have a serious brodeo and it's all love.
Q: Is LARPing dangerous?
A: No. There are a variety of different systems used, but all groups who run any kind of live games consider safety very important. There is no running around in sewers, no swinging sharp steel, and no real demon-summoning. Gamesmasters and players alike stress that these are games, not substitute realities. Groups which use "live" mechanics have systems for handling combat, magic and thieving which are designed to make sure no one gets hurt, and many of these groups also have medical insurance. There may be the odd bruise or ankle-twist, but nothing more than you might get walking through the woods or in a game of soccer or basketball, and it's certainly safer than hockey, (American) football or rugby. Groups which use "abstract" mechanics use systems based largely on index cards, rendering the whole event little more dangerous than a walk in the park. Rest assured that these are not dangerous or satanic games.
